Leadership Training

Shaping the Future of Wadeye

Our Leadership Training Program is designed to empower the next generation of trailblazers, giving young leaders the tools and the platform to advocate for lasting change. We go beyond basic training by fostering a culture of high expectations, supporting our youth as they pursue higher education, attend national summits, and represent their community at major conferences. This program is about more than just personal growth; it’s about promoting strong, vocal community leaders who are ready to stand up and shape the future of their homelands.

Central to this mission is the mentorship of a local Indigenous leader who is being developed to manage and deliver vital early intervention and diversionary programs. This leadership duo focuses their energy on young people aged 12 to 25, with a dedicated emphasis on those facing the toughest challenges—including substance misuse, self-harm, and the risk of entering the justice system. By reaching out to those disengaged from school or work, our leaders provide a relatable and powerful roadmap toward a more stable and purposeful path.

Success in this space isn’t achieved in isolation. Our managers and trainees work closely with neighbouring communities, local corporations, and partner programs to create a unified front. By blending professional development with deep-rooted community connection, we are ensuring that the leaders of tomorrow have the resilience, the network, and the voice to lead with strength and self-determination.
