Radio Broadcasting
Wadeye Community Radio
Our community radio service is the live heartbeat of Wadeye, serving as a vital link between residents, local news, and cultural storytelling. Currently broadcasting for an hour each day with ambitious plans for expansion, we provide a platform that keeps the community informed on upcoming events and essential services while delivering a rich mix of entertainment. Our content is designed to do more than just fill the airwaves; it is a space to educate, inform, and celebrate the unique spirit of our people, ensuring that the stories of our homelands are heard loud and clear.
Authenticity is the core of our broadcast. We are proud that 60% of our voices behind the microphone are local Indigenous broadcasters, bringing a deep cultural resonance to every show. We are committed to constant growth, aiming to increase our time on the air by 10% every year. Most importantly, we are dedicated to broadcasting in language, pushing to continually increase our in-language content. By weaving our traditional languages into the daily rhythm of the radio, we are ensuring that our service remains a truly inclusive and powerful tool for cultural preservation and community connection.
